Hi everyone, my name is Michaela Aldridge. I am 19 and a high school graduate. I am not sure exactly what i want to go to school for yet but something along the lines of theater set production is very intriguing to me. I love to build and i love theater!!
I have a passion for theater, music, singing and dancing. I am the oldest of five girls and have horses, dogs, cats, turtles, chickens and cats. We have a busy schedule that is always filled and ever changing. I also loving sharing what God has done in my life with others! About four to five years ago South Africa was laid on my heart as somewhere I was supposed to go and share. But South Africa, how am i supposed to get there?
I was introduced to World Race and Adventures in Missions and I joined one of there nine month mission trips. It was going to take me to Romania, Cambodia and Costa Rica! Great a mission trip and I was so excited except that is not where I felt called, but i talked to my advisor about how to start fundraising and everything and I began that journey. The only thing was i felt like i pushing up against a cement wall and nothing was moving forward and when it came to a fundraising deadline I could not meet i had to talk to my advisor. I was so upset and wanted to go on missions. We ended up calling a few days before the deadline and I told him everything and he ended up telling me about the semester trips, which are only three months.
He said they had a Costa Rica experience and a South Africa experience! I was so excited, this was exactly what I needed! I ended up talking to my new advisor and he got me reassigned with semesters and we started getting all fundraising and plans in order. As soon as we did, everything started falling into place!! It was so exciting and I could not believe this was really happening! I ended up leaving for training camp January 21st and then flew to South Africa on the 26th. That leads us to where we are now and we are in Johannesburg and start ministry tomorrow!!
