This week has been a insanely full ministry week. I’ve been so exhausted but so in awe of how God is moving in South Africa. This week we have been mostly doing community outreach which means that we are basically doing door to door evangelism.

On Tuesday it was our first day of ministry and it was beyond anything I had ever expected for that day. We were in the Eskom community. We met so many people and we ended up having 3 salvations that day! The kids are so full of energy and joy. They love building things with you or doing your hair or tickle you and be able to talk and sit in your lap. I had two little girls that day that fell asleep in my lap.

On Wednesday we went to Zandspruit community. We actually split into 6 groups and my group stayed at one house the whole two hours. She was amazing and her son was just over a year old and was named Gift because he was God’s gift to her! We had great conversation with her and her sister.

On Thursday we went to Deipsloot community. It was so amazing because the second we split up, this lady came running up to us asking us to pray fro her pregnant friend. Every moment we were praying she was just praising the Lord. Even though she was never prayed for she was so full of joy. After the prayer she was running down the street rejoice and shouting, telling every house she passed by of her joy! It was so beautiful just seeing the joy in the little things. We talked to 3 more houses and families that day and had so many good conversations. Most of them had either been to church or had a young relationship with the Lord.

I think that is the thing that has shocked me the most about the African culture, everyone is so welcoming in conversations and so many people have at least heard of Christ or been to church a few times. It is so beautiful to see the joy in everyone’s hearts and eyes when you meet them. We can also see how seeds have been sown and watered before we even landed in Africa. People are so willing and earnest to learn. God truly has prepared a way for us.

Then we had what is called Impact Student ministry on Friday and this morning. What we do is we go into the surrounding schools and talk about some topic. Sometimes dream workshop or bullying or identity or circumstances vs. choices. This week we spoke on potential and we talked to about 20 classes total and did one assembly. It was a little nerve wracking at first but then through lots of prayer and worship with the team so much was eased and lifted from all of us. I am still not sure what the upcoming week has in store but I’m so excited to see how God will continuing working through Impact Africa and Adventures in Missions!!
